Center Exercises
Center Exercises, Exercices au milieu
The center is where dancers really start to master the technique. Most people usually only do a tendu and adage in the center, but a young dancer should do everything they did at the barre now in the center. One rarely has time to do all that; thus, center exercises are replaced with more exciting combinations. The center, when young, is made up of exercises dedicated to individual techniques and the step's coordination, whereas when older, the exercises become more elaborate and show off a variety of techniques to build coordination, artistry, and to build strength by working the feet and legs from one technique into another.
